Executive Director – Amy Wood

Amy has lived and worked in Powell County for 30+ years. During her time working in several rural schools she discovered a passion for elementary education and helping children and families navigate the difficulties of life. She also gained perspective on poverty in Powell County and believes that we can do more to help our neighbors during times of need.

Fundraising and Marketing Director – Alexa Wood

As a native Montanan, born and raised in Powell County, Alexa has a deep love for the communities that OSJ serves. A recent graduate of the Culinary Institute of Montana, her passion is in ensuring that every family is able to experience the joy of the holiday and has what they need to enjoy a beautiful meal together.

President of the Board of Directors – Carrie Kouba

As a former school principal and now working as the Director of School Improvement for the public instruction office for the State of Montana, Carrie brings with her a wealth of knowledge to help Operation Spread The Joy bring our services to the children and families of Powell County.

Vice President of the Board of Directors – Gwen Purcell

As a certified Pharmacy Technician and independent Medical Insurance agent Gwen brings with her a passion for helping families live their best and healthiest lives. As a resident of Idaho she loves spending time in the outdoors with her husband and wild, adventurous son… aka. Santa’s Helper – who you will see in many pictures! .

Board Member – Amy Kroon

As the former Director of Development for a major non-profit in Butte, Amy has spent a significant amount of time learning about the economic challenges of families in the State of Montana. She brings with her knowledge of grant writing, marketing and advertising and is excited to give back to the community that helped raise her children.

Board Member – Kylie Yurian

Kylie Yurian is a proud mother of three and the current local leader of MomCo, where she works to empower and connect area mothers. She brings that same commitment to her role on the Board of Directors for Operation Spread the Joy, focusing on tangible ways to lift up the community. From organizing holiday magic to providing essential meals, she is dedicated to making a real difference for families in need. Her goal is to ensure that no neighbor feels alone and that every child in our community has a reason to smile.

Treasurer – Jami Christensen

Jami Christensen is a lifelong resident of Deer Lodge with a strong foundation in family and finance. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Montana and works as an Internal Auditor at Peoples Bank, where she is known for her detail-oriented approach. At home, she is raising two sons and managing a lively household with a hamster, two dogs, and six chickens.In her free time, Jami enjoys writing stories with the potential to become books. She also serves as Treasurer for Operation Spread the Joy, contributing her financial expertise to support the organization’s mission.

Board Member- Jacey Ewing

Jacey Ewing is a wife, mother of two, and has called Deer Lodge home for the past seven years. She works full-time as an esthetician and is deeply committed to supporting local youth in her community. Jacey has served on multiple boards focused on youth programs in Deer Lodge and is passionate about continuing that work.Growing up involved in 4H, FFA, rodeo, and sports helped shape who she is today. Outside of work and volunteering, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and creating opportunities for kids to grow and succeed.
